The Centro Cívico Río Ebro in Zaragoza hosted today the premiere of «Cabaret Oriental», a production choreographed, written and directed by Alba Torres.

The play, starring Laura Blossom, recreates the atmosphere of 1920s Cairo cabarets, combining belly dance, burlesque, live music, and a story full of humor and irony.

As for the plot, a young dreamer sets out to reopen, in the heart of the 21st century, the legendary cabaret once run by her grandmother in Egypt nearly a century ago. The script, filled with unexpected twists, plays with the classic elements of the genre: humor, contrasting characters, and a storyline that unfolds amid feathers and ambition.

«Cabaret Oriental» is presented as a show where East and West meet on stage, paying tribute to the golden age of variety theaters and oriental dancers.
